Very rare antique 1910 japanese wine carafe made by fukagawa seiji company. The wine carafe has islamic style shape with narrow neck & filigree handle. The lower part of carafe is beautifully lobed (12 lobes) with raised relief enamel morriage design.

There are 3 different pictures on each side of carafe depicting lovely traditional royal romantic garden scenes from ancient japanese life. The piece is in orange-red, white, gold, pink, turquoise, black, green, brown colours.

This beautiful piece attributed to famous japanese master kitagawa & marked "kitagawa-sei" with authentic red-gold mark on the bottom. Size in inches: height 9" x width 6.5" bottom part x width neck - handle 3.5" x diameter 3.2" bottom. Size in centimeters accordingly: h23 cm x w bottom part 16.5 cm x w 9 cm x d8.1 cm bottom. About the company: fukagawa family made the ceramics for generations. The father, fukagawa chuji, founded the company in 1871.

After his death, his second son began fukagawa seiji company in 1894. The company exported the porcelain to europe & america & it was highly priced through the world fairs.
