Grand porron in cut crystal/decanter/carafe/pitcher/vintage. Decoration of vine leaves and grapes. Crystal stopper topped with a metal handle and cut for an air intake. Spout protected by a metal cap. All connected by a chain.
Very nice rare collector's item. It is a mixture of wine bottle and watering can, whose neck is narrow and closable. Starting from the bottom of the container there is a kind of beak which narrows until it becomes a small opening (2-3 mm). A porr is normally filled with red wine.
To drink with a porr, we start by putting the beak close to the mouth. The spout is then gently tilted until the liquid is directed towards the mouth. When the liquid begins to come out, the pitcher is gradually withdrawn from the mouth until the arm is fully extended, and the head is tilted slightly backwards. The whole art lies in the ability to swallow with your mouth open, so that the jet is continuous even for several sips. Finally, we bring the porr close to the mouth so as not to spill any wine. This item is made of cristal.
