Fiesta Carafe Water Jug Original Yellow Designer Frederick Rhead 1936 to 1946 Art Deco Form Homer Laughlin Co.

  
This carafe, water jug was only produced for a decade. These were only produced in fiesta's 6 original colors. This one is their original yellow.

Measures 9 1/2 tall and holds 3 pints. Marked in the mold fiesta hlco usa. This example is in excellent condition with rich, even glaze. Looks like this has had very little use.

These are getting very hard to find especially in this fine condition. Designer frederick rhead was known for occasionally borrowing and modifying shapes, but his water jug is distinctly his own.

Hand work would have included smoothing the edges of the mold seams, attaching the handle to the body, shaping of the foot on the jiggering machine, and atttching a 1 1/2 cork to the underside of the lid.
