Well-received and popular pattern in american brilliant period glass. This is water or wine carafe (juice works too) in the strawberry diamond and fan pattern. An antique hand cut crystal carafe from the american brilliant period. 8.5 tall x 5.75 wide.
This is the taller of the two strawberry diamond fan carafes available. Please see the slightly shorter carafe if you'd like a similar pattern pair/ one for white wine and one for red one for orange juice and one for apple excellent serving pieces for your table. Also handy as bedside water carafe. See last photo of them both. The strawberry diamond with fans pattern was a very popular design and is shown in late 1800's/early 1900 catalogs such as libbey, dorflinger, pitkin brooks, and hawkes. More than half are not signed. This pattern is shown on page 25 in the 1897-98 pitkin brooks catalog.Nicks are not unusual for a glass antique and considered expected or inconsequential. I have not found but i do see a few bubbles toward the base. This is antique blown glass. This carafe is clean and a nice example of this popular pattern.
Bottom surface scratches from use and cleaning are shown. This item is made of crystal and glass.
