Antique victorian english silver plate and glass jug. Dating to the 1890s era this british jug was used for ice cool drinks such as pimms, lemonade or iced tea. The central metal canister which originally would have had a cap was filled with ice, sealed and placed in the center which would keep the liquid on the outside cold without watering it down. A great addition to your vintage home decor, victorian or kitchen collection.Ribbed lemonade jug measures 12.75" tall by 9.5" wide by 5.5 deep and weighs 4lb 14oz. In good solid condition and ready to display with wear commensurate with age.
