A large georgian regency wine carafe, with a wide pouring rim. Slice cuts run down the neck and a ring at the base of the neck aids a safe grip on the heavy filled carafe. The body is a sphere and the foot is plain and applied with a polished pontil. The carafe easily holds a bottle of wine, with room to breathe - i checked.
These carafes were never intended to have stoppers, as demonstrated by the smooth inside neck which would have been ground should a stopper been intended. No chips or cracks all wear in line with the age, please see photos.
