Antique Baccarat carafe with 4 Port glasses Ballon

  

Very nice carafe with 4 matching port glasses, made at the end of the 19th century. The set is made of mouth-blown glass with a crystal content to achieve a purer shine. At the bottom of the glasses and the carafe you can still see the cut of the blowpipe. After blowing, very fine lines and floral motifs were engraved around the glass and decanter.

This decanter with glasses belongs to the baccarat tableware series "ballon". No two glasses are exactly the same in size and weight.

Crystal from the 19th century is not as pure as the crystal we know today. Given its age, a small trace of wear may be present, as well as glass threads, air bubbles and imperfections are completely normal for handmade antique glassware. 2nd hand / good condition / no chips or cracks. This item is made of glass and crystal.
